Officers are worried he will do it again and could hurt someone. Theyve got him sectioned off on Treasure Island at the shoreline at vista point before that guard house as you pull on to the island. Police dont want anyone diving past him, they say it is too dangerous. They say he has already led police on a high speed chase and fired at them. There are 50 people in San Francisco trying to get home to Treasure Island. They say the red cross is working with them and trying to help them find a place to go they need shelter, food, they are not allowed to go to their homes. The sheriff of Santa Barbara california called it a case of premeditated mass murder and a hollywood film maker says his son was the gunman. At least six people were shot and killed in a student neighborhood near the university of california Santa Barbara, Law Enforcement sources have confirmed to cbs news the gunman was a 22yearold named Elliot Rodger. He also died of a bullet to the head, although it is not clear if he killed himself or was shot by police. Recently, rodgers mother had apparently seen youtube videos where rodger mentioned suicide and shooting people and called the police. A family lawyer say the police interviewed rodger and found him to be a quote, perfectly polite, kind and wonderful human. Danielle nottingham begins our coverage. We have another gunshot. Cultural audit aimed at identifying problems in City Hall The Gainesville Sun Turns out that a cultural audit really is a thing. Who knew? I hadn’t heard the term until the Gainesville City Commission met a couple of weeks ago to decide what, if anything, to do about their manager, Lee Feldman. On the job only a year, Feldman has drawn complaints from inside City Hall. And an outside investigation report recommended he be fired for (maybe/maybe not) retaliating against an employee who accused him of discrimination. After a testy discussion, the commission voted 4-3 in support of Feldman. “We can’t fire our way out of a cultural problem,” Commissioner Harvey Ward said, noting that Gainesville’s last two city managers have found themselves at odds with entrenched senior staffers.
