Tallahassee, Fla. – The No. 16/RV Florida State swimming and diving teams will hit the road to face No.4/8 Florida in the Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown on Friday.
Diving will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville starting at 12 p.m. each day, while swimming events will be held in Ocala, Fla., on Friday at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training Facility.
“We’re excited to swim a very good Florida team at this new facility in Ocala,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “It’s a great opportunity for some fast swims indoors against some great competition. It’s a great way for us to continue to get ready for championship season.”
The teams will compete in 16 events including the 100s and 200s of each stroke in addition to 50, 500, 1650 free, and 400 IM. The meet will start off with the 200 medley relay and finish with the 200 free relay.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State divers Tazman Abramowicz and Samantha Vear were named the ACC Divers of the Week on Tuesday following their performances at LSU on Saturday. Abramowicz wins his first ACC Men’s Diver of the Week honor after finishing first on 3-meter with a score of 367.43, which was his highest of the season after sitting out most of the Fall due to injury. He won the event by just over four points in a high-scoring, competitive field where five divers scored above 340 points. He was also sixth on 1-meter at 307.73 and both scores were NCAA Zone B standards. Abramowicz contributed one of FSU’s 11 event victories against the Tigers, as the Noles won, 180-120. The Calgary, Alberta, native becomes the third Seminole to win the award this season. Jesco Helling was the winner on Oct. 11 and Darwin Nolasco was picked on Nov.1. The 16th-ranked men enter the contest 2-1 with victories over Florida Southern and Georgia Tech, while the RV women boast a 5-1 record with wins over FSC, North Florida, West Florida, Georgia Tech, and Miami. Both squads fell to No. 10/9 Georgia. “We’re looking forward to getting back into dual meets,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “LSU has a very good team. They have a couple of Olympic gold medalists on both sides, so we’ll have our hands full.
