Former Neerkol employ to stand trial later this year

Mr Baker s matters were mentioned in Rockhampton District Court last week. The court heard Mr Baker was scheduled to stand trial to contest the charges with the trial starting on November 8 in Rockhampton District Court. The court heard the six charges that were in the magistrates court had been moved up to the district court. Crown prosecutor Samantha O Rourke said the crown would not be pursuing an application to have the six charges join up with those Mr Baker will stand trial over in November.

Douglas Peter Beath, 64, pleaded guilty on May 14 in Rockhampton District Court to three counts of stalking - one with threats of violence. Crown prosecutor Samantha O Rourke said the stalking offending took place over two years and five months (August 1, 2015 - January 20, 2018), stalking his former partner, her colleague and her new partner. She said Beath s criminal record included two convictions related to the stalking offending. Ms O Rourke said the facts of the prior convictions involved Beath sending flowers to his former partner five times, calling her 1313 times and then driving to her house.

CQ pub cook jailed for producing drugs

Premium Content Subscriber only A Central Queensland pub cook has been jailed for producing drugs after a jury found him guilty of the offence. Cameron John Domin, 33, was sentenced on April 29 in Rockhampton District Court for producing a dangerous drug, possessing a dangerous drug and possessing items used in the production of a drug. He was on probation for other offences at the time he was found in possession of the drugs and production items on April 1, 2017. Crown prosecutor Samantha O’Rourke said Domin, who had pleaded guilty to one count of possessing drugs but not guilty to the production charges, had shown no remorse and went to trial despite a strong Crown case.
