The majority of the soldiers in the Bangladesh contingent comes from the most distinguished units of the Bangladesh Army, comprising of 1,2,3,4,8,9,10 & 11 East Bengal Regiments and 1,2 and 3 Field Artillery Regiments, who had fought during the 1971 Liberation War.
With Bangladesh in focus, a vintage Indian Air Force (IAF) Dakota will do a fly-past at India s Republic Day parade on January 26th. The Dakota will be part of the Rudra formation along with 2 MI 171V. Dakotas had played a key role in Bangladesh s war of liberation in 1971 and was used to airdrop troops. In fact, Bangladesh s air force began its journey with gifted Dakotas from IAF.

Dhaka [Bangladesh], January 13 (ANI): In a show of respect to India and to commemorate its 50 years of the Liberation War, Bangladesh Tri-service marching contingent and the ceremonial band will participate in this year s Republic Day parade at Rajpath in New Delhi.
The Indian High Commission in Bangladesh stated in a release that a contingent of 122 proud soldiers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, departed for India in a specially sent IAF C-17 aircraft. The contingent will participate in India s Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on 26 January 2021. A contingent of 122 proud soldiers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces departed for India in a specially sent IAF C-17 aircraft on Tuesday.
The contingent will participate in India’s Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on 26 January 2021.
This is only the third time in India’s history that any foreign military contingent has been invited to participate in this National Parade at Rajpath in Central Delhi, Indian High Commission in Dhaka said on Wednesday
It is especially significant as the year 2021 marks 50 years of the Liberation War, through which Bangladesh emerged as a vibrant nation, free from the yoke of tyranny and oppression, it said.
Dhaka, Jan 14 (IANS) Bangladesh Armed Forces, which fought and bled together with their Indian counterparts 50 years ago, will participate in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on January 26, at Rajpath, a statement said.
