Attending an election rally organised for the BJP alliance candidate Gunindranath Das from Barpeta constituency, Sonowal said that the BJP-led coalition government ever since it came to power, has been working to render equal development, equal prestige and equal dignity to all sections of the people of the state.

Sonowal said that during such visits, he himself interacted with the people belonging to minority communities, realised their problems and took steps for their welfare.

Speaking at a rally, Sonowal said that under the BJP government, Barak Valley has witnessed a new paradigm of development in Barak. The previous Congress government never worked for the development of Barak Valley and as a result the region remained under-developed.
