A MAYOR is hoping to ‘nip behaviour in the bud’ after complaints of children abusing a new play park.
Millom Town Council said they had received a number of complaints about baby oil and other liquids being poured on the new slides at the park on St George’s Road. “We are getting a number of complaints about children and young people abusing our wonderful new park by pouring baby oil and other liquids down the new yellow slides, said a spokesman. “While this may seem relatively harmless it is actually both very dangerous, particularly for younger children, and also causes considerable damage to clothing.

PPM joined forces with the school because of its close link with housing association Home Group, which owns many of the homes on the school’s surrounding estates.
The school is also a close neighbour of the PPM South Lakes office, the Bradbury Centre, in Millom.
Youngsters were asked to create a piece of artwork based on what their local community means to them.
The winning design was created by Zack Holmes and can now be seen around South Lakeland on the bonnet of the brand-new PPM van.
Zack focused on the local beachfront and well known Hodbarrow Lighthouse at the old Millom Ironworks, now an RSPB Nature Reserve.
