Ekiti labour reverts to congress over minimum wage The Punch
Abiodun Nejo, Ado Ekiti
BARRING any last minute hitch, the organised labour in Ekiti State will on Tuesday hold a joint congress to determine the way forward following a logjam in the negotiation over payment of the new minimum to workers.
The organised labour in a circular on Sunday titled, ‘important information’, said, “The meeting (on minimum wage negotiation) that took place on Thursday December 24, 2020, was far from the expectations of the entire workforce because government shifted the goal post when the document was billed for signature.
“Flowing from the above, it is very expedient and necessary to brief the joint congress of Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and Joint Negotiating Council on these unexpected developments on Tuesday 29, December.”
