Students at Blake High School and Richard Montgomery and paint branch and northwest as well as seneca valley high schools have either walked out or are playing to walk out planning to walk out later today. We are at the final Meeting Place and it to kind of go along with students as they were traveling down New Hampshire avenue in Silver Spring but we caught up with them and they stopped right here at mlk park, so you can see how many students are here. Theyre all from blake, spring brook and paint branch. And they all joined together today for a walkout and a protest. So spring brook and blake, they met up around 9 40 this morning. They all walked near Colesville Center and then they were heading over here to the park
Now at 4 30. How soon until the city of waukesha will be able to take its water from Lake Michigan. Waukesha is pressing ahead with plans to eventually get its water from Lake Michigan. The city says its curren supply is unsustainable. Because waukesha sits outside the great lakes basin. It needed and won approval from great lakes states and provinces. Pete zervakis explains on right now. The plan to pump Lake Michigan water to waukesha calls for the city to buy that water from oak creek. The two sides hoped to reach a deal on on the price by the end of this month. But because final approval of waukeshas plan from the great lakes states and provinces didnt come until this summer. The negotiations will likely be extended six more months. Were hopeful well have those contract negotiations complete Water Utility says. Once an agreement is in place. It can start planning a route for piping water from oak creek to waukesha. And sending the same amount in treated wastewater back into Lake Mi
