The pro democracy parties in hong kong are on course for an overwhelming landslide victory in local elections. Latest estimates based on votes counted suggest the pro democracy camps have won seven seats for every one held by parties backing the government. These are only local District Council elections, but this is a huge vote of support for the protest movement after almost six months of often violent demonstrations that have brought the city to a standstill.
