BJD MLA candidate from Pipili, Rudra Maharathy’s wife Jagruti Panda (32) filed her nomination as an Independent candidate against her husband from the same seat. Rudra is not worried about her move. Rudra, son of late MLA from Pipili, Pradeep Maharathy, won from the seat in a byelection in April 2021. The politically-sensitive Pipili assembly constituency under Puri Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on May 25. Jagruti’s affidavit states her assets at Rs 43.76 lakh and around Rs 2 lakh. Jagruti, who studied law and MBA, works in a private educational institution in Bhubaneswar.
