BJD MLA candidate from Pipili, Rudra Maharathy’s wife Jagruti Panda (32) filed her nomination as an Independent candidate against her husband from the same seat. Rudra is not worried about her move. Odisha is going to see a few couples fighting elections from different seats in the ensuing elections. Rudra, son of late MLA from Pipili, Pradeep Maharathy, won from the seat in a byelection in April 2021. The politically-sensitive Pipili assembly constituency under Puri Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on May 25. Jagruti’s affidavit states her assets at Rs 43.76 lakh and around Rs 2 lakh. Jagruti, who studied law and MBA, works in a private educational institution in Bhubaneswar.

Kolkata Knight Riders chief mentor David Hussey has expressed his disappointment after the postponement of IPL 2021 as India continues to battle the second wave of COVID-19.
It so happened that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to temporarily suspend the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League with immediate effect after some of the players as well as members of the team support staff tested positive in the last couple of days.
