ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - The Rowan County health director is stepping down to take a position in another county.
Nina Oliver told WBTV she has submitted her resignation. She will take a health director position in Carteret County, near the North Carolina coast.
The Rowan County Board of Health is appointing Alyssa Harris as the interim county health director.
Oliver has been a part of the Rowan County Health Department for the past 18 years, working as a Dental Health Educator, moving to Preparedness Coordinator, then Clinical Program Manager, and finally serving as Health Director in 2014.
