The school, which faces a $33 million budget shortfall for the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year, sent preliminary layoff notices to 163 faculty members and 34 administrators in early March. Monday s vote by the trustees could begin the process of sending finalized layoff notices. College administrators have said the cuts are necessary to stave off a state takeover should City College not meet its fiscal responsibilities.
