Yes, larry, this is one of the largest known covid outbreaks in the bay area at a homeless shelter of the 70 people tested positive, 68 are living at the shelter. The other two are Staff Members. Here is what we know about the shelter. Its part of the st. Vincent de paul society of San Francisco. Mayor breed made it clear this shelter was a known hot spot on any given night. The shelter accommodates more than 340 people. But as of last night, there were only 100 people in the shelter as many others are now being housed in hotel rooms. Because of that, breed says the shelter was able to quickly transition into a medical facility, even touting the city was both prepared and quick to respond to this outbreak.
