The Rolesville Rams made quick work of the Holly Springs Golden Hawks at home on Friday night in the first round of the NCHSAA 4AA state football playoffs.
Wide receiver Cyrus Rogers was involved from the opening kick-off, which he took all the way to the Holly Springs 31-yard line.
From there, Rogers found the end zone as star quarterback Byrum Brown found him for a 21-yard touchdown pass.
On the ensuing Holly Springs drive, Damon Burton came up with a sack for Rolesville on third down which forced the Golden Hawks to punt.

Rolesville, N.C. On thursday night, Rolesville became the first school not named Wake Forest to win a Northern Athletic Conference championship in football. This was thanks to a 29-21 clinching victory over its rival Heritage from just over the town border. The Rams looked outstanding in the second half after finding themselves down to the Huskies 14-12 at the break.
Thanks to Rolesville s 36-3 win over regular powerhouse Wake Forest last week and tonight s win over Heritage, the Rams secured the top spot for playoff seeding out of the NAC 6.
No. 10 Rolesville takes down Wakefield for first NAC win of the spring

Rolesville, N.C. In Rolesville s first NAC 6 Conference battle of the spring 2021 season, the Rams took down Wakefield in a 56-35 shootout. Rolesville jumped on the Wolverines early and never looked back. The victory was an important step for the Rams in their pursuit of a conference title.
The Rams jumped out to a 35-7 lead in the second quarter. Wakefield s Marcus Baker and Nehemiah Jones scored touchdowns off of passes from junior quarterback Caleb Kerins to make the halftime score a more digestible 35-21.
