And they teach you at balboa high that you should go to Community College for the first two years of your college experience. And the reason they teach you that is that you save a lot of money and they give you a time to figure out where youre going next. So, i have a deep stake in whether this Community College lives or does not live. So, for me its really, really important that, a, we have a democracy and that we have the people back, restore the duly elected board of trustees, and b, im very, very happy and applaud mayor lee and senator leno for suggesting legislation Going Forward to make sure that there is enough money for city college. City college is a vital, vital part of our Public Education system. Its for all of the kids of San Francisco. Its for seniors, its for veterans, its for everybody else, but literally middle class or lowincome person in San Francisco today cannot afford a fouryear college. City college allowed me to work full time while i put myself through college and allowed know figure out the course of my education because in the early 20s should be no surprise, i like many other people didnt know exactly what i wanted to do. And it gave me high quality top notch education in every single way. Every single last program that is shaved from city college is picked up will be eventually picked up by the private sector.
