As we head through tonight, well start to see the winds pick up so that red flag warning in effect until 5 00 p. M. Power shut off. How they plan to keep running safely. Schools are also shutting down, uc berkeley is among those shutting down. The scope of this power shut off is unprecedented but so are the catastrophic wildfires we have seen in recent years. Pg e is set to pull the plug on 800,000 homes and businesses starting just after midnight. It will begin to our north and then roll south across the bay area as the day progresses. More than 200,000 of those pg e customers are in the bay area. The outages are happening in eight of the nine bay area counties. Only San Francisco is exempt. People across the bay area are scrambling to get ready. Our Team Coverage begins with amberly at an open gas station where there were lines of cars waiting to fill up today. Reporter we are at a busy gas station on mountain boulevard in the oakland hills. The manager here tells me there have been lines all day. There are still people here filling up. Everywhere we went, people told us they did not want to take

The notification came out this evening saying that people in sausalito, are going to be without power that. Led to a major rush and it meant really bad news, a major financial loss for the shops and restaurants in this tourist town. People flocked to goodmans hardware in mill valley searching for the light. Lanterns, flash lights, batteries, flying off the shelves. One highticket item has already flown. How about generators . We are out of generators. Longer lines than usual at the arco station in mill valley. Some people heeding advice. Fill up your tank even though it was basically full. Every little ounce counts just in case if we dont know if its dwo na be two days, a week. Reporter the outage will cost businesses a bundle. Itll cost up to 300 customers per day. We will have to call all of our customers and tell them that we wont be open f
See who would be out and when. This is the map. Im showing you San Francisco here, and the east bay. These are areas not yet affected. We dont expect San Francisco to be affected at all or the rest of San Francisco county. Thats the only county untouched by this event. Already parts of marin are being affected. If i click now on sausalito, the pink areas that you see on the map are the areas that already have outages. Heres one area in sausalito, when you click on that, you can see that about 3,700 people are affected there. The one issue with this map is it does not total the entire bay area. Its difficult to see how many people are out as one large number. You have to go through and pick and choose the areas. A moment ago we heard frances say parts of napa county have been affected. If you go up into the north bay, you can click and see what areas have been affected. I will click on the city of napa now. You can see there are a number of spots that are now out. 10 10 00, 11 00, 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour and these are sustained winds. We could see higher gusts at at times throughout the day. So well continue to monitor that as well as the humidity an that will create the critical fire conditions. Mike, youre tracking the roads. And we start with a crash in san jose. There may be a couple lanes blocked. Just a typical crash. No major injuries. So look at the south bay, were zooming out and showing you the bigger view and there are no major issues as far as Speed Sensors go. And even in the altamont pass, traffic is green right now because remember, were on a half hour earlier. My concern here is in the north bay with a traffic issue because we have reports of a signal that is out, but also because of just after 1 00 this morning, there were power lines that reportedly came down in the area. Caltrans is on scene but i dont know about other crews. This is the jamison canyon area. And with the high wind, apparently power lines came down. So ill link
