Weare School Board won t delay deliberative session

Weare School Board won’t delay deliberative session Published: 2/4/2021 4:52:24 PM The deliberative session for the Weare School District will happen two weeks from now after the school board declined Wednesday to delay it until April, the latest step in this complex tale of scheduling annual meetings during the pandemic. The move comes as a state representative is questioning whether School District Moderator Luther Drake acted in accordance with state law in using multiple 72-hour delays to push the meeting from Feb. 3 to Feb. 17. Communities throughout the state are wrestling with whether, and how, to change annual meeting schedules in hopes that increased vaccination and warm weather allowing better ventilation will make in-person gatherings safer and draw more voters.
