issuing the ban. 4 a massive man hunt for an escaped arizona inmate and his fiancee shifted to a small town in arkansas now. but that lead ended up hitting a dead end. u.s. marshals swarmed the town of gentry after a couple robbed a beauty salon there. it turns out john mccleskey and katherine welch did not commit that crime. he and two other inmates escaped from an arizona prison two weeks ago. it s believed welch helped them. a group that wants to build a mosque near manhattan s ground zero rejected an offer for free state land. governor david paterson who made the offer says he respects the decision but says the mosque s backers wouldn t even hear what he had to say. a veteran u.s. army officer who agreed with president obama that gitmo should be closed now has been excluded from the jury in the u.s. military trial. prosecutors say the lieutenant colonel was removed because of preconceived views that might jeopardize their case. move came as prosecutors and jurors selected
