government worried but the cap will stay on for another 24 hours. july 19th, 2010. i m chuck todd. good morning. i m savannah guthrie. we begin in the gulf where the good news is that well is still capped and holding. the bad news, toxic elements may still be leaking into the water. charles hadlock is live for us in venice, louisiana. charles, good morning. bring us up to date. reporter: good morning. the coast guard says it s detected a leak on the sea floor this after the wellhead itself is not leaking any oil since service capped on thursday. that s the good news. burr the coast guard and everyone else is concerned about what s causing that seeping from the sea floor. we don t know whether it s oil, natural gas or a hydrocarbon and could be an indication of a leak somewhere in the well structure allowing oil, natural gas and other hydrocarbons to leak into the formation and bubble up to the surface. the danger in is, of course, it could erode the sea floor and cause th
