India News: The road transport ministry in India has proposed a draft automotive standard for an "Advanced Emergency Braking System" (AEBS) for buses and trucks.
The road transport ministry has proposed two norms to improve vehicle and passenger safety — mandatory certification of all buses built both by vehicle manufacturers and bus body builders and the provision of devices for ‘indirect vision’, which will be in addition to the rear view mirror.
According to road transport and highways secretary Anurag Jain, the ministry has done the mapping of the entire national highways length of 1,46,000 kilometres and is firming up performance-based maintenance and short-term maintenance contracts to remove potholes by December this year | Latest News India
