One of the area s most popular festivals, canceled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, is back for 2021 but with modifications. Fairport Canal Days runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6. Because of work being done to Fairport s lift bridge, the free event will confined to the north side of the village. Festival attendance, which normally approaches 200,000 over the weekend, will be capped at a little under 12,000 at any one time so 6 feet of distance can be maintained between people. Usually, there are 200 vendors; this year there are around 100. Tuesday, March 17, 2020. The movie theater, like many small businesses around Rochester and New York, are closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Two months after the couple that ran the Cinema Theater announced its closing, the historic single-screen venue has new operators. Husband and wife Kristina Dinino-Jeffords and Damon Jeffords, who own the Mad Hatter Restaurant and Bakery at 176 S. Goodman St. near Park Avenue, last week finalized an agreement to lease the Cinema, Rochester’s oldest movie theater, from building owner John Trickey, he confirmed.
