Not only is Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) a Patriot for his principled defense of the U.S. Constitution, heâs also a veteran who willingly put his life on the line to defend this nation serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Yet some leftists, fresh off successfully getting Donald Trump banned from social media by their Big Tech buddies, will do anything to collect more conservative scalps, and theyâve taken their hatchets to Cotton.
Apparently, Cotton represents everything leftists loathe about conservatives, yet without any of the personality flaws that made Trump an easy target. Last summer, The New York Times published an op-ed from Cotton entitled âSend in the Troops,â wherein he made the argument for Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 to stem the violence and rioting that was rocking several American cities. Over the weekend, a tweet caught my attention. It was published by radio host Hugh Hewitt, a friend of mine, who seemed to be defending Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) – someone he s regularly interviewed for years. Cotton is a decorated combat veteran, having signed up to serve on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan after graduating from Harvard Law School. So what was this scurrilous attack comment in reference to?
I’ve interviewed @SenTomCotton almost weekly for 8 years. He’s rightly proud of his service w/ 101st in Baghdad and w/ The Old Guard and of his Ranger Tab for Ranger School but never confused units or his service. Never claimed to have served in a Ranger unit. Scurrilous attack. Hugh Hewitt (@hughhewitt) January 23, 2021
