Thousands of students statewide will receive their Seal of Biliteracy this spring. It's a special notation that will be displayed on their high school diploma and transcript that formally recognizes graduating high school students who have achieved a high proficiency in English and another language.
Three-member teams from nine high schools in the southwest suburbs competed in Moraine Valley Community College’s High School Culinary Skills Competition
Richards High in Oak Lawn won the IHSA state championship for Drama with an all female cast that wowed judges with a production called “Mac/Beth.” Oak Lawn Community High School placed third with “Wolf at the Door,” Thornton Township was fourth in drama with “Pipeline,” and Reavis was sixth with “Steel Magnolias.”
