The bait. Im the guy that likes to do the fishing. Im the guy that likes to do the stories that nobody else is doing. But this one time tonight, im going to start with a story that i just dont think a lot of liberals in this country are terribly concerned with. But lets not be disfocused for a moment. I want to start tonight with a couple of numbers. The first number is nine. House republicans will form the ninth Congressional Committee to investigate the september 12th attacks in benghazi. Here go your tax dollars, folks. Today House Speaker john boehner selected South Carolina conservative republican trey gowdy to head up this new committee. The next number i want to focus on is 1,101. Fox news has mentioned the word benghazi no fewer than over a thousand times in the past year. Now, one more important number. And that would be six. May have played a role. Even as we mourn the passengers on the plane that was shot down, tonight, we are hearing from survivors of this plane in taiwan. Survivors who somehow managed to walk away alive. Abcs david kerley, who covers aviation for us, has the very latest on their stories. Reporter the remains of this passenger plane hosed down. A mangled mess in a week that has seen some grim aviation scenes. Some good news here, though. Somehow, 11 people survived this crash, according to local reports. One girl climbing out of the wreckage, borrowing a cell phone and calling her mother, saying, mom, my plane crashed. Still, 47 others were trapped inside and killed. Aircraft are in action in the skies over iraq. The white house has released a photo of the president in the situation room with his National Security staff. While the last of the u. S. Combat troops pulled out over two years ago now, the concern is this violent isis movement the rebels who have been sweeping across the country with very little resistance in their path. They have been rooting out Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities. 40,000 of whom are said to be on the run and in great danger. Less than a decade ago, of course, the u. S. Had 145,000 troops in iraq. The u. S. Spent 2 trillion on the invasion of that country. And the sustained combat that followed. The problem tonight is twofold.
