Bend Mobility Hub Study Underway

Bend's Mobility Hub Feasibility Study launches today, with the first virtual Technical Advisory Committee meeting from 2:30-3:30 pm. Mobility hubs support CET's plans to transition away from its current "hub and spoke" system and provide a more "multicentric" transit system in Bend. This study, funded by an ODOT Transportation Growth and Management Program (TGM) grant, will research best practices among peer agencies to inform CET's efforts to successfully implement mobility hubs in Bend. The Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will manage the project in coordination with the City of Bend, CET and other partner agencies and organizations. Cascades East Transit to resume Saturday service May 1, remain fareless Bend Dial-A-Ride also to be available on weekends BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Starting May 1, Cascades East Transit will return to providing Saturday services for Bend Fixed Routes and major Community Connector Routes across Central Oregon, the agency announced Friday. Also, Bend Dial-A-Ride will operate on both Saturdays and Sundays, starting on May 1. Each of those public transportation services is currently fareless. CET and Commute Options will host outdoor social-distance tabling events on Saturday, May 1 from 12 to 2 pm at Hawthorne Station in Bend (334 NE Hawthorne Ave.) and at the Redmond Transit Hub (777 SW Kalama Ave.) from 2 to 4 pm to provide free schedules, route maps, public health and safety information, face masks, hand sanitizer, and LED safety lights to riders.

Vision team welcomed new members By Janel Ruehl and Emme Shupe Tuesday, December 22, 2020 12:35 PM Since July 2019, the Vision Implementation Team (VIT) has been meeting regularly to guide progress on the Sisters Country Vision. The VIT is thrilled to welcome three new community members to the team: Hattie Tehan, Dennis Schimidling, and Bob Bryant. Each brings a different background, skill set, and passion to the Vision project. The VIT is also excited to announce the funding of their first Community Partner Grant, awarded to AFSC (Age Friendly Sisters Country) to support volunteer capacity for their Tollgate Village and STARS Transportation projects.
