Some Municipal District (M.D.) of Pincher Creek councillors aren’t comfortable with proposed changes to the funding formula of the Pincher Creek Foundation that came out of discussions with the Town of Pincher Creek.
Members of the Town and M.D. of Pincher Creek councils met alongside their respective CAOs in January to negotiate a more equitable funding agreement for the Pincher Creek foundation, but some M.D. councillors weren’t satisfied with the result presented during the February 9 meeting.

Town and Municipal District (M.D.) of Pincher Creek councils deliberated over the effectiveness of the joint funding process from the most recent round of applications during a virtual joint council meeting on January 14.
Both councils expressed satisfaction with the approval process, but councillors indicated that they wanted feedback from applicants about how they felt about the process.

Town coun. Scott Korbett opened with comments that he appreciated the process’s simplicity.
“I thought it was actually much better than last year. It was certainly a lot easier for me to do my evaluation, so I’m happy with that and I’d like to see it stand just the way it is for another cycle,” said Korbett.
