The Uttar Pradesh government has rejected a request from the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) for 50% state funding for two proposed metro extensions in Ghaziabad. The government cited that the maximum state funding share for other metro projects in Uttar Pradesh is 27%. The proposed extensions are from Vaishali to Mohan Nagar and Noida Sector-62 to Sahibabad, which would connect Ghaziabad's Red Line to Delhi Metro's Blue Line.
