Been devastating to see those homes lost in this fire right behind me they are carrying out their morning to briefing to you have agencies from across the bay area here to help put out this fire. But i enjoy life right now with captain saw lopez is with the San Mateo County Sheriffs Office you know, lets talk about how its been for your department in the most important thing you want people to now so were currently working with cal fire in communicating with our residents in the south coast area thats been affected and many of those areas or rural and steep. So when we do issue a i suggest that everybody listens to those warnings you pack up your things and be ready to evacuate if those mandatory evacuation notices come out what have you seen anyone or people trying to stay back and not wanting to leave their houses and if that is happening. What do they need to do so those are some of the challenges we have experience at in the last 48 several deputies have interacting with residents
Now watch from the east up around sacramento. Watch these orange colors start to come in overnight tonight. Right there. See that filling in . Midinsightmidnight . And then here about 6 00 a. M. This is above 1,000 feet. Most people wont notice much wind, but its a dangerous wind in that theres fire. And the orange area adown the Santa Cruz Mountains, that area will see some wind and also the east bay hills. That looks like the worst spot, it will be that north bay. Im not expecting 70 mile an hour winds. Im thinking a few hours of winds around 25 to 35 miles per hour, and then quickly, by tomorrow afternoon, the winds slow down. Okay . So its worth keeping an eye on, because any wind in this pattern is scary. Ask well have a spare the air alert tomorrow. The air quality will not get better until those fires go out. When i come back, julie, well look at the forecast highs and some of those records. It is miserable out there now. Thank you, bill. The extreme heat sent people in San Fran
The Santa Cruz Mountains in the oakland area right the Oakland Hills above a 1000 feet or so the diablo range also looking at some very gusty winds there and that will be the case some of these gusts of 25 to maybe 45 Miles Per Hour maybe the gusting higher than that in spots are going to see that especially over the top of the mountains very very gusty winds right latest on the computer models you can see youve got a little bit of a breeze out there in fact a little bit of a sea breeze returned today but not for long all of a sudden we get that offshore wind look at the colors rolling in the bay area and these are down the urban areas got 2030 mile an hour winds down a place like Petaluma Santa Rosa also calistoga sonoma up on the mountain tops. It will be a lot more gusting than that of course we are primed with fire with treasure record breaking heat, so certainly some dangerous weather ahead as fire danger is going to be running extremely high. Thank you or some other big element t
Fine. Im sure their lawns are full of smoke and look at the left side of your screen you can see the smoke and the flames still there they easily could have been killed. Look at the hillside right behind them completely charred and then to the left of them as well thats also charred so those flames easily could have jumped into their field, but it never did. Apparently according to sources that people who live here they water this area very well for the llamas to have their food and because of that you can see the grass is much greener here then on the other side. Yes, its burned, but there are patches of a lot of yellow indicating dry vegetation. So because of that it looks like the llamas are saved and i just noticed over there on the right side of your screen a couple of cows. Theyre doing just fine as well among Pleasant Valley road driving into this location. There are many homes great news to pass along there are many homes that are still intact, theyre not allowing people to go
