Morning flooding is impacting flooding at the nashua dam on thursday, september 22nd, 2016. Emergency management officials in Butler County says the town of greene is one of the hardest hit areas. Trees have even fallen on some homes and power lines in that area. Early on thursday morning, ditches along some roads including 110th st. Leading into greene are flooded. The Linn County Attorneys Office says the shooter was underage and bbieve he acted in self defense for a shooting earlier this month. Sheriffs deputies responded to 1414 sisley grove road northwest the morning of february 6th. They found 44 year old Richard Smith was shot twice at his home. A popular eastern iowa golf clubhouse is no longer standing, after a fire early friday morning. Flames engulfed the amana colonies golf club, around 3 45 am friday. The fire was so hot crews couldnt approach the building at first. The smoke and flames were visible for miles, and it took firefighters about two hours to put the fire out. The building is a complete loss, but no one was injured. Firefighters remained at the scene most of the day. The fire also destroyed dozens of golf carts and other equipment. One former employee at the golf course said she had to come and see the damage for herself. I dont think its hit us yet, affiliation with it, other than going over to golf, no its really sad.
