Is really warm in Southern California. We are pretty chilly in brentwood but at least there is no fog. There has been a lot of fog lately but today we are 42 37 walnut creek danville and san ramon in the 30s. Elsa brontk and el cerrito at 51 and 53. For some chilly for others mild. A lot of high clouds but that is all they are doing, just drifting. Partly to mostly cloudy to the north and mostly sunny to the south. The dividing line looks to be the goldengate to the north. 50s for some, 40s for many others with high clouds screaming over the sierra. It is really warm in Southern California with a red flag warning as it was 89 in long beach yesterday. Burbank was 86, ucla 84. A big concern here after the Butte County Sheriffs Office has ordered immediate evacuation for everyone who lives and works in the oroville area downstream. Right now were hearing from the Department Water resources and Weather Service that the auxiliary spillway structure below the dam, theyre expecting it to fail and that will result in an uncontrollable release of floodwaters. Obviously a huge issue here. Theyre estimating it could happen in the next hour. Authorities say using that auxiliary spillway has led to severe erosion, and the reason they were using

Thats why theyre leaving. An emergency Evacuation Order is for oroville and yuba city. A lot of people trying to get out of town and the roads are clogged. This started at 4 15 this afternoon when dam operators noticed a hazardous situation in the auxiliary spillway. Theyve been letting out water at 52 cubic feet per second trying to get the pressure off of the auxiliary spillway. They then said it is time to evacuate people there warning lowlevel areas could see a rapid increase in water and then this. 18,000 people, the population of several towns there altogether ordered to evacuate. The National Weather service saying this is not a drill. This is a life or death situation. Thats what they said in their news release. A life or death situation. People are responding. A snake of cars there, and at least theyre moving and it was a complete standstill and it would be terrifying.
