The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea seeking to declare the Rampur Assembly Constituency by-election process as illegal alleging that police have stopped thousands of voters from exercising their right to cast their vote in Rampur bypoll.
The BJP national executive on Monday began brainstorming for the upcoming elections with party president Jagat Prakash Nadda asking leaders and cadres to gird their loins to win each of the nine Assembly elections in 2023. He cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “tireless pursuits”
BJP leader Akash Saxena, backed by a battery of BJP s national leaders including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, somehow pulled the miracle of wresting this seat from the hands of Samajwadi Party this time. Saxena became first Hindu candidate since independence to win the seat.
The Samajwadi Party has alleged that the police and the administration were not allowing the party supporters to vote during the bye-poll held on Monday.
