Monsoon has already advanced over most parts of Konkan and Goa including Mumbai. Conditions are becoming favourable for further advancement of Monsoon over parts of South Gujarat, many parts of Maharashtra, some parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, parts of East Bihar and Jharkhand in the next 2 to 3 days.
The state of Telangana has witnessed good rainfall activity yesterday with heavy showers observed over many parts of the state. So much so that in the last 24 hours, Dindigul recorded 28 mm of rains, and Hyderabad recording 63 mm of rains.
These weather parameters are enhancing the rainfall activities over Lakshadweep, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and South Karnataka. Intense rain activities are expected to continue over above-mentioned states until April 16 or 17, thereafter intensity will go down. Light scattered rain may continue thereafter.
Under the combined influence of these meteorological conditions, converging winds are likely for the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Along with Coastal Andhra Pradesh, rain and thundershowers will continue to attack eastern half of Telangana.
week long rains are expected to be seen over many parts of South India. In fact, in addition to the five subdivisions that come under the Northeast Monsoon regime, the upcoming rains will also extend to Telangana and North Interior Karnataka. Simultaneously, it may give some rains over Goa and Mumbai as well.
