Moderate to heavy rains with squally winds are likely over Car Nicobar and Port Blair. Lightning storms with gusty winds may have pockets of hazardous weather conditions, particularly on 04th and 05th Dec. Conditions will improve on 07th Dec, significantly.
The month of October is an overlapping one, with southwest monsoon retreating from central and southern parts and northeast monsoon ingressing south peninsula. At times, difficult to draw distinct line between the two.
After the dissipation of cyclone Sitrang normal flow of north-easterly winds will commence over the Bay of Bengal. These north-easterly winds will help the onset of the Northeast monsoon. Light rain may commence over coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and parts of Tamil Nadu from October 28 or 29.
Northwest India is expected to go dry for most of the days in October. However, Northeast India and Southern parts will keep having bursts of weather activity. Weather system developing over Bay of Bengal during the 3rdweek of October may bring heavy rains along the coastal states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. These rains could as well penetrate deep inland also during that period.
Recently, we have seen rains picking up over many parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka as well as over Rayalaseema. We expect good Monsoon rains to occur over many parts of Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala for at least next one week.
