Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala from November 14 to 16 and over Andhra Pradesh between November 13 and 15
During the next three days, one can expect some rains with isolated heavy spells likely to continue in a few areas. Therefore, it is safe to say that rains will be continuing over southern parts of India.
When it comes to the entire Pre-Monsoon season between March 1 and May 3, the country has seen 28 percent excess rains at 95.4 mm against 74.3 mm. Now also, more rain is coming up for the next three to four days.
On May 4 and 5, the spread may almost remain the same but the rains will become scattered and moderate. Isolated heavy spells can still be seen over some parts. Seasonal peninsular India trough running through the central parts is quite active. Moist winds off Tamil Nadu's coast are building convergence over the region.
Reason of these unseasonal rain in the second half of the month can be attributed to the frequent active Western disturbances, induced cyclonic circulations over Rajasthan and Central Pakistan, east west trough from Rajasthan to east India as well as north south through which persisted from Central India to South Peninsula.
