A trough is developing across Indo Gangetic Plains from Haryana to Meghalaya across east Uttar Pradesh, South Bihar and West Bengal. There may be light scattered rain and thunderstorm over Eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and parts of Odisha on May 21st and 22nd.
Light to moderate rain may also occur over West Bengal, Odisha and parts of Jharkhand during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, weather of Jharkhand will go dry, however light rain activities may continue over Gangetic West Bengal and coastal areas of Odisha for another 24 to 48 hours.
Rains will begin from the Madhya Pradesh region tomorrow and continue until Feb 19. Rain belt will cover Chhattisgarh on February 19 and 21. Thereafter, eastern regions of the country will begin to witness rains including Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal on Feb 20 and 21
Changes in association with pre monsoon season are conceived rather early over state of Odisha and adjoining region. Visible changes get appreciation from 2nd half of February, more so for the coastal parts of the state.
The cyclonic circulation which was persisting over eastern part of Uttar Pradesh has moved away and the weather is now clearing up. Minimum temperatures are expected to drop over East India due to the commencement of cold north westerly winds.
