State of Odisha will be the main beneficiary of the cyclonic circulation with scattered rainfall between 23rd and 25thJune. Rainfall belt will extend to cover Chhattisgarh on 26th and 27thJune.
We do not expect any relief from ongoing hot and dry weather for at least next one week. Dry winds from west will continue. Western Disturbance will be feeble, it will have no impact over Northwest or Central India. Monsoon although is moving with a faster pace, it will have no impact on these states either in change in wind direction or increase in pre monsoon activities.
There may be light rain activity over Konkan and Goa and South Madhya Maharashtra in coming days. Isolated thunderstorm or light rain may occur over Vidarbha and Marathwada around May 26 and 27. Most parts of North Madhya Maharashtra will remain dry and hot.
Skymet has predicted another normal Monsoon 2022, making it 4 in a row. The recent history has a record of six successive normal monsoon between 1993 and 1998. Southwest monsoon has decadal cycles of dry and wet epochs.
This system along with an induced Circulation over the plains will result in some Pre Monsoon rain and thunderstorm activity over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, North Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada today. Parts of North India will see some dusty winds as well.
