Once again, mostly Tamil Nadu and Kerala will be the chief beneficiaries and a part share will be extended to South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. South Interior Karnataka will largely escape the intensity and spread of rainfall.
Heavy rains will be starting day after tomorrow. These showers will be prolonged, with only short breaks in between. Rains will be at their peak on November 11, reducing a little on 12th and then reducing even further on November 13.
The state of Kerala can also expect mostly moderate and few heavy showers on 12th and 13th Nov. The weather system is likely to cross over to the Arabian Sea on 14th Nov, ending its fury over most parts, subsequently.
Reason for these rains can be attributed to the Cyclonic Circulation, which is over Southwest Bay and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast and South Tamil Nadu Coast. A trough extending from this system running right across South India up to Kerala. These showers will be seen for a few days.
After the dissipation of cyclone Sitrang normal flow of north-easterly winds will commence over the Bay of Bengal. These north-easterly winds will help the onset of the Northeast monsoon. Light rain may commence over coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and parts of Tamil Nadu from October 28 or 29.
