Delhi Police has taken Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi and others into custody as the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress delegation was marching to the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Thursday morning to submit a memorandum of 2 crore signatures against the Centre’s farm reform laws.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that there is no democracy in India while adding that it can be our imagination but it does not exist in reality in India. Earlier today, 50-60 Congress leaders were taken into police custody after they were denied permission to hold a march against the farm laws.
The party staged protests at the Congress headquarters after they were prevented from marching towards Rashtrapati Bhavan. Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and party MPs and other leaders staged a sit-in protest outside their office and were detained by the Delhi Police for violating prohibitory orders. Delhi Police detained Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other party leaders on December 24 for violating Section 144 imposed around the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The contingent, which also included Congress’ Members of Parliament (MPs), was marching towards the Rashtrapati Bhavan to submit a memorandum to President Ram Nath Kovind seeking his intervention in the farm reform laws issue. The memorandum reportedly contains two crore signatures.
