UNDATED – Black Hills State women’s basketball fell to the Westminster Griffins 65-74 in Grand Junction, Colo. Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets were led by senior guard
Racquel Wientjes who recorded 23 points against the Griffins.
Danica Kocer were both hot from beyond the arc which allowed them each to record double digit nights at 11 and 10 points apiece.
Although the Yellow Jackets were able to shoot 43.9% from the field it was not enough to overcome a Griffins offense shooting 64.4% from the field.
After a slow start to the game the Yellow Jackets offense got hot in the first quarter allowing the team to go up by five over the Griffins.

GRAND JUNCTION, CO – Black Hills State lost to Westminster 74-65 Friday in the first round of the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Tournament. Black Hills had been awarded the RMAC Tournament championship March 6 when Colorado Mines could not play in the title game.
Sully Buttes alum Racquel Wientjes led the Yellowjackets with 23 points.
BHSU finished the season 14-10.

GUNNISON, CO – Sully Buttes alum Racquel Wientjes scored 28 points to lead Black Hills State to a 67-62 RMAC semifinal win over Western State on Friday. BHSU, the seventh seed, has won two road games to advance to the tournament final.
Wientjes, who was named as an All-RMAC selection earlier in the week, scored 30 Tuesday in a win at Westminster.
Black Hills State will play Colorado Mines Saturday night in Golden, Colorado, for the RMAC championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Women’s Tournament.

GOLDEN, Colo. – Black Hills State women’s basketball’s scheduled RMAC Championship game against Colorado Mines has been deemed a no contest due to COVID-19 protocols and will not be played.
As a result, the Yellow Jackets have been named 2021 RMAC Tournament champions for the first time in program history, while earning a bid to the 2021 NCAA Division II National Tournament for the third time in school history, and first since the 2017-18 season.
