Local officials have said they will treat the former president like any other defendant. Sources tell cnn that trumps team has been in contact with the District Attorneys Office about the conditions and logistics for his surrender. Cnns ryan young has our report. went and had a meeting. so it has the risk of backfiring against the state, because if they made it so complicated and so many different overt acts, i think 160 have been thrown into the indictment, which to me seems unnecessary. they should have simplified it if they didn t want to risk the 12 jurors listening to all this evidence trying to decide who knew what when, who agreed to what, what does this overt act mean, is it racketeering, is it not. it can get very confusing. do you see this case staying in georgia or going the way of federal court, which is what mark meadows and his attorneys want? honestly, i haven t studied that issue very much. i think they re going to be hard pressed to get it out of the state court system. i m not sure what would give them the right to transfer it to federal court. these are state crimes charged
