Winning in the Tri-County Conference has become second nature for the Blair Oaks boys basketball team. The Falcons secured their 43rd consecutive conference win Saturday, wrapping up the regular season with an 80-47 victory against the School of the Osage Indians on Senior Day.
The Blair Oaks Falcons have avenged every regular-season loss from last year. First it was Monroe City, then it was Helias. Next came Nixa, and most recently was the Jefferson City Jays. The Blair Oaks defense held Jefferson City to 31 percent shooting Friday, leading wire-to-wire for a commanding 75-44 victory.
The Capital City Cavaliers gave the Blair Oaks Falcons everything they had in the first half Wednesday night. But the second half belonged to the Falcons, who overcame a 10-point deficit in the first half to beat the Cavaliers 76-61 at Capital City High School.
Luke Northweather already has the Blair Oaks boys basketball career scoring record. Now he can add the single-game scoring record to his long list of accolades. Northweather scored a program-best 51 points Tuesday night, leading the Falcons to a commanding 91-41 Tri-County Conference victory against the Eldon Mustangs.
Luke Northweather became the all-time leading scorer in Blair Oaks history Thursday night, totaling 31 points in the Falcons’ 65-35 win against the Logan-Rogersville Wildcats in the opening round of the Nixa Invitational. Northweather now has 1,678 points, passing Blair Oaks girls basketball coach Brandon Moore’s total of 1,677.
