Sara Kofsky, a registered nurse who works in the emergency room at OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital, was the first person in Delta County to receive a COVID-19 vaccination in Delta County back in December 2020. Thousands of doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administred locally since then.
ESCANABA Public Health Delta & Menominee Counties (PHDM) has given an update on local COVID-19 vaccine efforts.
On Monday, March 8, PHDM received 900 first doses of the Moderna vaccine. All nine hundred of these doses were shipped to the Delta County office. OSF St. Francis Hospital also received 100 doses of the Moderna vaccine and redistributed the vaccine to PHDM. PHDM also received 300 second doses this week.

On Monday, March 1, PHDM received 1,000 first doses of the Moderna vaccine. All one thousand of the doses were shipped to the Delta County office. OSF St. Francis Hospital also received 100 doses of the Moderna Vaccine and redistributed the vaccine to PHDM.
On Thursday, March 4 the PHDM Menominee County office received 400 first doses of the Moderna vaccine. PHDM also received 700 second doses this week.
During the week of March 1 to March 7, PHDM held five clinics and administered 1,974 doses 1,192 first doses and 782 second doses to those 65 years of age and older, health care workers, first responders, jail staff and pre-K through 12 teachers. Two of the clinics were second dose clinics held at Bay College, one second dose clinic was held at the Menominee High School. One first dose clinic was held at Bay College and another at the Pullman House Supper Club in Menominee.

On Feb. 15, PHDM received 500 first doses of the Moderna vaccine. Two hundred of these doses were shipped to the Delta County office and 300 were shipped to the Menominee County office. PHDM also received 400 second doses this week.
OSF St Francis Hospital did not receive any doses this week. However, OSF did provide PHDM with 186 second doses of the Pfizer vaccine for a clinic at Menominee High School.
During the week of Feb.15-21, PHDM held six clinics and administered 1,197 doses (700 second doses and 497 first doses) to those 65 years of age and older, health care workers, first responders, jail staff and pre-K through 12 teachers.
