Schroeder said a key goal of the committee is to make runoff-reducing projects in the watershed more accessible and user-friendly to the producers and landowners.
As part of the $2.6 million jetty and boat dock project, the city would install roughly 60 boat slips that could be rented. The city would collect the revenue from boat dock rental fees.
Building the infrastructure to receive water from Randall Community Water District is estimated to cost $86 million. Estimated price tag that the city would be responsible for is $78 million.
“We recommended reducing the load weight due to a crushing abutment cap,” Engineer Dan Hammond said of the decision to recommend city officials impose a weight reduction on the canal bridge in 2021.
