“We recommended reducing the load weight due to a crushing abutment cap,” Engineer Dan Hammond said of the decision to recommend city officials impose a weight reduction on the canal bridge in 2021.
Among the seven lots that were up for grabs, the highest bid for one lot amounted to $200,000. The $200,000 lot was awarded to Boyd Reimnitz, who owns a nearby lake home.
Mitchell Mayor Bob Everson, who was one of the leading proponents for passing the measure, said Tuesday night that the voters’ approval made it “a good day for Lake Mitchell.”
