While city leaders are pursuing a multimillion-dollar secondary water source, an official with B-Y Water District says it can meet growing daily water demands.
“We’re doing a lot of manual removal of the solids from the wastewater. These new upgrades will be a lot safer for our workers,” Wastewater Supervisor Jon Vermeulen said of the north plant project.
“They (Millennium) are looking at increasing rates, but they are not going to raise ours since our material is so clean,” Public Works Director Joe Schroeder said of Mitchell's recycling program.
