wednesday deadline. rahel. thank you, manu. and now, coming up is the trial of a man who killed 11 synagogue worshippers. the prosecutors are seeking death penalty. with me is former prosecutor and cnn senior analyst elie honig, and this is an emotional day of what people remember back to 2018, and legally significant day. this is an interesting trial, because it is a federal trial, and murder is usually state trial, and why is this federal? right. most murders are only prosecutable in state court, and to get into federal, you need a hook, and in this, the murders are charged as hate crimes resulting in death. so the prosecutors have to prove
deliberate taking of highly classified things. that makes it more prosecutable. so i think that this kind of additional evidence just leads to the conclusion that it is going to be prosecuted, that it cannot be just oh, i made a mistake, it got packed up by a mistake. no, he was told he had these documents. he had to return them, and he said i declassified them in my mind. i declassified them just by thinking about it. no, you didn t, and you knew what the process was. every employee in the government knows what the process is, and it s not that they are just declassified. so i think this really proves the intent and makes it prosecutable and convict-able. i just lost ten pounds in my mind. let s talk about the reason you are all here. you are on tour with your podcast, and last night you had a special guest at one of your shows, at your sold out show, eugene carroll. my understanding is that she got a standing ovation from the
