Another AMU faculty dies As many as 17 of its faculties and a number of employees have so far died because of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Friday May 28, 2021 8:47 PM, ummid.com News Network Aligarh: Mohammad Ayyub, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Z H College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) passed away in Aligarh, the university said in a statement. The university did not reveal the cause of his death. However, as per the earlier update from the varsity, as many as 17 of its faculties and a number of employees have so far died because of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

AMU mourns demise of Prof Mohammad Nasiruddin

May 15, 2021 Prof Nasiruddin will be missed deeply by friends, colleagues and students, said Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC).   Prof Nasiruddin was also associated with various committees and organisations. He has been the Coordinator of ADR Monitoring Centre at JNMC, under the aegis of Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.   Prof Nasiruddin published many papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored academic books, wrote book chapters, and edited many books. He was appointed as lecturer in 1999 and was eventually promoted to the posts of Associate Professor and Professor respectively.    

AMU physician Prof Shoaib Zaheer dies in Delhi

May 13, 2021 “Prof Shoaib Zaheer had a gift for soothing patients. He was always up to help colleagues and students, always willing to go the extra mile”, said Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Dean, Faculty of Medicine). Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC) said: Under Prof Shoaib Zaheer’s guidance, students thrived and young teachers made great educational and professional strides. He will be remembered for advocating the finest healthcare for all and for exemplary services at the JNMC. Prof Shoaib Zaheer published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored an academic book, wrote book chapters, and edited many books. He was appointed as a lecturer at JNMC in 1992 and was eventually promoted to the posts of Associate Professor and Professor respectively.
