He added that Prof Saeed’s demise is indeed a great loss for the AMU community and a personal loss for him.
Prof Nafees Ahmad Khan (Chairman, Department of Botany) said, “I am deeply sorry to hear that Prof Saeed has passed away. I would like to extend solace to the deceased’s family and friends. This is a great loss for all of us”.
During his enduring career, Prof Saeed published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, wrote book chapters, and edited books. The graduate, post-graduate and research scholars he taught have worked at reputable positions in India and abroad.

“Prof Sifat would listen carefully to her patients, ask pertinent questions, perform the crucial parts of the medical investigations, and come to the diagnosis, which was never wrong”, said Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Dean, Faculty of Medicine).
Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC) said that Prof Sifat will always be remembered for her superb clinical skills and strict discipline.
Prof Sifat completed her MD (Medicine) in the 1970s at a time when it was rare for a female student to pursue the course. She was also known to have inspired many female students to study MD (Medicine). She laid special emphasis on case sheets, case history, and ethics in patient care.

Aligarh: Renowned Sanskrit scholar; former Chairman, Department of Sanskrit and currently the Coordinator of the Disability Unit in the university; Professor Khalid Bin Yusuf Khan passed away yesterday after suffering severe pneumonia and cardiac arrest.
“Prof Khalid was a man of many accomplishments, he was a profound researcher and an inspiring teacher. He eloquently spoke Sanskrit”, said AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor.
He added: “Prof Khalid was a gracious, gentle and welcoming presence in the university. His demise is a terrible loss for the AMU community and a personal loss for me”.

Aligarh: Renowned physician and superannuated faculty member of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Professor M Mubashir passed away after a brief illness.
He served the university in many capacities such as the Dean, Faculty of Medicine; Principal, JNMC; Director, Medical Attendance Scheme and Chairman, Department of Medicine.
“Prof Mubashir will always be fondly remembered for his patient friendly approach and vast wealth of knowledge relating to medicine. He was an exceptional clinician, teacher and human being, who mentored many generations”, said AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor.
