This past weekend, members of the Faith AME Church in Woodbridge brought a gift of appreciation to Novant Health/UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center in Manassas.
Contained in these gift boxes weren’t gold but rather gooey cheese, hand-tossed dough, and sweet sauce.
Members of the Faith Church Men’s auxiliary, known as Brothers Breaking Bread, took it upon themselves as part of their community outreach to buy and deliver pizza pies from Dominos Pizza in appreciation to the doctors, nurses, techs, and staff for serving the public during the coronavirus pandemic.

VIRGINIA Virginia passed the 1 million COVID-19 vaccine mark over the weekend as the state slowly moves forward in getting its population vaccinated. As of Monday, 1,105,102 vaccine doses had been administered of the 1,580,800 doses distributed to the state, according to the Virginia Health Department.
As the nation nears the two-month anniversary of its vaccination program, 206,942 Virginians, or 2.4 percent of the state s population, have been fully vaccinated.
An estimated 10.5 percent of the state s population has received at least one dose of the vaccine. The first COVID-19 vaccines were given in the United States on Dec. 14.

The push continues to return children to classrooms in Prince William County.
Over the weekend, school officials partnered with Novant Health/UVA Health Prince William Medical Center to vaccinate 2,500 teachers who work for the school division in preparation to return all children to in-person learning early next month.
Students in grades 4 through 12 who haven’t set foot in a classroom since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic last year are set to return in early March, the o county School Board decided last month. Following suit, Fairfax County the state’s largest school division yesterday announced plans to return to allow students to return to in-person learning.
